So we've been gone for a short break as most of the staff at our institution also went on holiday. We are continuing with Concept map training with a focus on the CMaptool and how it can help academics with their teaching and learning. Responses, for the most part; have been positive in terms of the training offered. The real measure of success I guess, is whether the training translates into implementation in the various departments.

Challenges appear to be the requests for student training in the use of the software as a) we simply do not have enough lab to offer the training to large classes and b)will students have access to these labs after training is completed to deal with assignments. Another challenge is to dispel the possible perception that the CMap tool is just another talk and chalk method or that it is a silver bullet for teaching and learning. What are your thoughts?
